Swarming the Markets with Hivemind’s Suite of Algorithms

Many clients want to trade swings in the market. They know how to do it and understand, but are too busy to time entries and exits. If that sounds familiar, you might want to learn more about an automated product in our TradingApp Store.

Triforce Platinum is a suite of algorithms on S&P 500 futures (@ES) and 10-year Treasury futures (@TY). They were developed by Matthew Owens, who studied psychology as an undergrad before earning a masters in quantitative finance. Free trials to his product are available.

“Hivemind is a trend-following system that also uses mean reversion,” Owens told me in an interview for Market Insights. “Based on certain volatility and market conditions, it changes regimes.”

This screenshot focuses on X3, one of the 10 programs included in the Triforce package. Blue arrows show entries and white arrows mark exits. Notice how the tradebot managed to repeatedly buy pullbacks and sell into strength. That’s just the sort of thing we’d all like to do… if we didn’t have meetings… and flights… and meetings… and flights!

Owens said that most of his subscribers have all 10 of the algos turned on, although there are seldom more than six in a position at a time. “There’s a lot of stuff going on under the hood,” he explained, “we’re using volatility in a very unique way no one else has really discovered.”

Remember, one of TradeStation’s most powerful features is its easy ability to support automated trading strategies. Clients can build their own systems or subscribe to the work of professional developers like Owens. Click here for other posts about popular trading apps.
