Monex Group CEO Oki Matsumoto, along with Takashi Hiroki, Chief Strategist for Monex, and Nana Otsuki, Chief Analyst for Monex discuss the key economic events that shaped 2017 and how those events and the international economic environment may provide opportunities going into 2018.

Oki Matsumoto began his career at Salomon Brothers Asia Limited in April 1987. He then joined Goldman Sachs Japan Co., Ltd. in April 1990 and was appointed General Partner of The Goldman Sachs Group, L.P. in November 1994. As a General Partner, he was Co-Head of its Tokyo Branch’s FX & Fixed Income Business and was in charge of FX and fixed income products and the related risk management. In April 1999 he jointly established Monex, Inc. with Sony Corporation. In August 2004, He was named the Representative Director, Chairman and CEO of the Company in February 2011 and then assumed his current position in June 2013.

Takashi Hiroki – Chief Strategist for Monex is one of top strategists in Japan, with 30 years of experience in the financial industry, of which 20 years in asset management. He frequently appears on TV news programs such as CNBC and is quoted on national newspapers as a market commentator. He is highly reputed for his accurate analysis & forecast.

Nana Otsuki – Chief Analyst for Monex has been a top analyst in Japan. Prior to joining Monex she was a banking sector sell-side analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and UBS. She was always ranked by Institutional Investor within top three, including #1 in 2014. She also serves as a Japanese Government’s Fiscal Budget Committee member, and Tokyo metropolitan government’s fund management committee.
