Salomon Sredni joined the Company in December 1996 as its Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer and was named Treasurer and a director of the Company in July 1997. In September 1999, he was named President and Chief Operating Officer, and became Chief Executive Officer and President in February 2007. In June 2009, Mr. Sredni was elected Chairman of the Board and held this position until the Company was acquired by Monex Group, Inc. in June 2011. In November 2011, Mr. Sredni was named Chief Operating Officer of Monex Group, Inc. and is also a member of the Global Management Committee for Monex Group. Mr. Sredni was recognized, together with the Company's co-founders, Bill and Ralph Cruz, as the "Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year" for the State of Florida in 2005.
Before joining the Company, Mr. Sredni was Vice President of Accounting and Corporate Controller at IVAX Corporation, a publicly-held pharmaceutical company, from August 1994 to November 1996. Prior to that time, from January 1988 to August 1994, Mr. Sredni was with Arthur Andersen LLP, an international accounting firm.
Mr. Sredni is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University.
Mr. Sredni serves and has served on the board of various nonprofit organizations in the community including the David Posnack Hebrew Day school (where he served as Chairman of the Board for two years), the Jewish federation of Broward county and the Jewish Community Foundation. He is a founding member of the Miami chapter of the Young Presidents Organization where he served as its chairman for two terms. He is also a member of the Orange Bowl Committee and is also a member of the Ambassadors Board of Nova Southeastern University.
